SR 160/SR 4 Interchange

Project Description:

The new interchange design was awarded by CCTA to provide lanes from south bound SR 160 to east bound SR 4 and west bound SR 4 to north bound SR 160 south of th John A. Nejedly Bridge. The design included two concrete bridge structures over the existing ramps and are built high enough to accommodate a future BART extension. The $50 million project was funded from Bay Area Toll Funds and was completed in 2016 with a $1 millin surplus that was returned back to the Toll interchange. VVH and its staff provided all of the project surveys and utility coordination services for the design of the new interchange. VVH services included full A-B-C mapping for the project, specifically; project control surveys, static GPS post-processed data, aerial mapping and control stations, utility mapping, lane closures for conform surveys, appraisal mapping, right-of-way surveys and preparing Caltrans Record Map documents. The survey control was blue-booked per Caltrans Surveys Manual procedures
